The Lion Sleeps Tonight

As apparently there is an escaped lion on the loose at Essex. Perhaps the local residents may do well to stop indoors over the next few nights, then..

Crown Jewels

Seems that a certain member of the Royal Family has been a naughty boy (was seen cavorting with naked ladies while at Miami beach).

Owling Mad

Yes, this cartoon might come across as being a bit random (which is the whole point of The Great Doodle anyway) but there is a reason behind this one. The original hand drawn version is expected to be auctioned off to raise money for a local owl sanctuary.
It is also fitting that I should dedicate this one to an uncle who was an avid owl lover.

It's A Lottery

As some lucky/poor sod here in the UK won £150 million on the Euro Lottery. That's a silly amount of money for one person to win.

Horsing Around

The great thing about being a cartoonist is that I can draw exactly what's on my mind. This is one such occasion . . .

In Space . . .

. . . no-one can hear you scream. Today, a "rover" robot had made a successful touch down at Mars. Just hope it doesn't have any problems in finding a parking "space".

Cartoon 67 of 365.

This was based on a version I drew in 1980 - I was only 12 at the time and this could well be the first ever "official" cartoon I've drawn. In actual fact, a school teacher had sent the original cartoon off to a local newspaper without me knowing about it, so you could imagine the surprised look on my face when I saw it in print - and that was when the doodling bug had begun.
